Church Leader Defends Continued Women Promotion
The State should continually promote women's welfare with a view to helping retrieve the moral and civic values of the society.
The secretary general of the Council of Angolan Christian Churches (CICA), rev. Deolinda Dorcas Teca, defended this on Friday.
Speaking to Angop on theme "Gender and governance", the church leader stressed that women have always played a crucial role in developing unity and reconciliation among the families and in educating society.
According to rev. Deolinda Teca, since the days Jesus Christ, women have always showed a divine wisdom.
"Comparing to those in the past centuries, women of today have a great development, particularly in promoting dialogue and hold decision-making positions, both in church or in politics," she said.
On the other hand, Deolinda Teca called on women to be modest in order for them to better develop their work and contribute to the development of the country.
